The Cooperative Work Experience Education and Internship Program is a unique educational plan. It provides students with the opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge by applying what is learned in the classroom with planned, supervised, on-the-job experience. Through the program students can earn college credits (up to 16 units) while they work or complete on-the-job training through an internship.
Worksites may be located on or off campus and consist of either paid or volunteer work or internships. They must also provide new or expanded learning opportunities or responsibilities.
By enrolling in our Work Experience class, available on campus or on-line, you will be able to strengthen your current work skill sets as well as obtain new skills and knowledge expanding your marketabilty, employability and earning power.
Internship placement is not guaranteed, but assistance is provided. Internships offer an opportunity to network, make connections and gain actual hands-on experience in his/her major and chosen career field. For assistance in finding an internship please contact the Co-op office at least four to five weeks prior to the start of the semester.
For assistance call the Co-op office (916) 691-7372 located at BS-106.
