Pepsi Bottling Group
Outside Contributor 1970–Present
The Pepsi Bottling Group has been an outstanding contributor to the athletic program at Cosumnes River College since the school’s inception in 1970. Pepsi has been and continues to be instrumental in the continued development of our athletic programs and teams. Along with the original scoreboard in the football stadium, they helped with the purchase of the original basketball and baseball scoreboards in 1970. Pepsi again helped with the purchase of a new scoreboard for baseball in 1993, a basketball/volleyball scoreboard in1995 in the small gym, and the new scoreboards in the Community and Athletic Center when it opened in 2001. Pepsi again step in to help with the purchase of the new softball scoreboard and the scoreboards at both the men’s and women’s soccer field.
Pepsi’s generosity goes beyond scoreboards; they have also contributed to our athletic programs through donations of product for special athletic events, tournaments, camps and playoffs. They have sponsored schedule cards for each athletic team, donated the refrigerators used in the concessions area, and several drink coolers used by our athletic training staff. Pepsi has been a Title Sponsor for our Golf Tournament, they help sponsor the media guides for each team, and they donate $500.00 per year toward the "Pepsi Scholar Athlete Award" which is given to a male and a female athlete who have achieved in the classroom as well as in the athletic arena.
Although Pepsi started working on the campus through the athletic department, they now contribute campus wide with donations of product for convocation, open houses and other events, the textbook drawing and other faculty functions.
We would like to thank the Pepsi Bottling Group for the continued support of CRC athletics and welcome them into the Hall of Fame.
