ABOUT THE CAMP:

Tennis camp is where you can learn or improve your tennis game in a fun group setting.  ALL skill levels are welcome!  Our Camp is Hi-Energy and our objective is to learn the basics of Tennis by drilling, practicing, competing, and conditioning.  We will teach you everything you need to know about scoring, the courts, the grips, the shots, the racquets, as well as the dynamics of competition.  We use a wide variety of fun drills designed for specific age groups and ability groups.  You will learn and improve your Tennis game, and learn to compete in a Sport you can enjoy your entire lifetime!  Camp concludes with a Tournament and awards ceremony!

The tennis camp will focus on the following areas:

  • understanding tennis rules, the courts, and equipment
  • player safety on the court
  • basic fundamentals: grip, ready position, footwork, forehand, backhand, volleys & serve
  • conditioning
  • good sportsmanship and having fun with the game of tennis for a lifetime

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

SUZANNE STEBBINS
Suzanne Stebbins

Coach Suzanne Stebbins has been playing competitive tennis since she was eight years old. She played at the #1 singles position at Cosumnes in 1993 and 1994, where she earned first team all-conference titles. Coach Stebbins has won a number of singles and mixed doubles championships. (Big Al’s, Open Singles Champion, 1995; Spare Time Singles Champion, Incline Village, Mixed Doubles Champions, and many more). Coach Stebbins has been a USPTA Tennis Teaching Professional since 2003.

Coach Stebbins built a dominating tennis program at Galt High, and led the Lady Warriors to four playoff births, from 2000, to 2009. She was voted All Metro Coach of the Year by the Sacramento Bee in 2008. Coach Stebbins teaches private and group lessons in Galt.

Coach Stebbins is a California native, who enjoys many sports besides tennis.  She is a Master Swimmer and a competitive runner. She also enjoys hiking, skiing, and riding horses with her family and husband Steve.  She is an animal rescuer who lives on a ranch in Galt with many horses, dogs, and cats.
