2011 Cosumnes River College Hawks
A pair of former Hawks volleyball standouts will be competing at the four-year level next
season, as 2011 team libero Tasha Malana (Pleasant Grove HS/Sacramento) signed a National Letter of
Intent to play at Dickinson State, and 2009 Hawk Chanel Coleman made the roster at Sacramento
State. Malana (pictured top left), who was a scholar-athlete during her time at CRC, will play for the Blue Hawks next
year for the NAIA school in North Dakota. It was announced recently that Coleman (pictured above) earned a roster
spot for the Hornets, who compete in the Big Sky Conference at the NCAA Division I level. In other
volleyball news Redshirt freshman Yara Barghout (Elk Grove HS), pictured top right, was awarded the Steve Krisiak
Academic Scholarship.
