We will put your team through one of our programs or a specially designed program of your choice. The session includes skill instruction, skill games, small-sided games and scrimmage.

The camp session is one week in length - 3 hours a day, for a total of 15 hours of instruction for the week.

Camp session includes basic skills training, contests, games, and scrimmages.

Choosing the Right Camp

As a parent or player it is very important and difficult to choose the correct camp. The CRC Soccer Camp Staff has a proven track record of directing quality camps and coaching excellent teams. They have coached many youth players who have become select, competitive, high school, and collegiate coaches. The camp philosophy is to encourage players to have fun, teach them soccer, and provide them the environment to achieve their personal goals.

Coaching Staff

The staff is the single most important ingredient of any soccer clinic. Our staff consists of professional, college, high school and youth coaches. Who are chosen for their teaching ability, as well as former and current players from the CRC and Knights soccer organizations.

Camp History

Established in 1983, as the Soccer School, the camp offered a community-oriented place for conducting youth clinics in rural Elk Grove. Each year since it’s opening, the Soccer School has offered top-notch soccer camps. Additionally, the Soccer School has hosted college classes, college tournament games, adult co-ed league games and other activities. Today the camps are offered only at the Cosumnes River College campus and are operated by the Cosumnes River College Soccer Program. Several alumni of the camps are now in the Olympic Development Program (ODP), high school, and college rosters. CRC’s track record of helping to produce quality players and coaches is unparalleled in the Sacramento area.

About the Directors

Both Directors are CRC alumni.

ANDREA ZARATE - Director
Andrea Zarate, Sacramento native, started playing youth soccer at the age of 5 years old. As a youth, Andrea played for numerous local competitive soccer leagues. During her last two years of competitive soccer as a member of Capital Valley, now known as California Rush, she won back to back State Cup Championships.

Andrea attended Cosumnes River College (CRC) after playing 4 years of Varsity Soccer at Valley High School. During her first year as a college soccer athlete, Andrea was awarded the prestigious national All-American award. Regionally and locally she earned Western Region, 1st Team Northern California, 1st Team All-Conference, Pepsi-Scholar Athlete, CRC Female Athlete of the Year, and team MVP. To top off her second year at CRC, she attained the school's scoring record of 20 goals in a single season. The success Andrea accomplished at CRC was not only limited to the soccer field, but she also excelled in the classroom by earning honors with an AA degree. Recently in 2009, Andrea was inducted into CRC's Athletic Hall of Fame.

Recognizing the importance of balancing school and soccer, Andrea transferred to the University of California, Davis in 1996 to continue her education and soccer career. Upon receiving her Bachelor’s Degree as a Human Development major, Andrea was awarded All-Western Region and All-Conference in soccer. After graduating from UC Davis, Andrea enrolled into the Teaching Credential Program at California State University, Sacramento. While in the program, she coached competitive soccer with Capital Valley. Andrea became a teacher in Sac City Unified School District in 1999 and has been teaching at Sam Brannan Middle School for most of her career.  In addition, Andrea teaches a toddler art and movement class offered through Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD).

“Participating in athletics has always had a positive impact on my life. Many skills and experiences were gained solely by being an active athlete. Athletics has not only provided numerous opportunities, but it has also provided me a significant amount of life long lessons applicable for the real world. Sports and exercise are necessary for the development of our children, and I feel only fortunate to work with young children to provide opportunities to enhance their lives.”
