Mustangs Outrun Hawks

The Cosumnes River College women's volleyball team went on the road to Delta College Wednesday evening and lost a tough three games.  The Mustangs are currently tied for 2nd place in conference with Santa Rosa with an 8-3 record.  The Hawks have worked hard to improve, yet are still in the rebuilding process and are still experiencing some bumps along the way.  This match proved to be another learning experience for CRC as they lost with scores of 25-14, 25-14, and 25-10.  The ladies will return to action this Friday when they have their last home stand against the Sierra College Wolverines.  The Hawks overall record is 8-15; in conference play they are  2-10.

Hawks Put Away Pirates

The Cosumnes River College women's volleyball team took on Modesto Jr. College Wednesday evening and took care of business.  The Hawks, who have struggled of late, went to work right away on the Pirates and shut them down in three games.  Stephanie Galloway (Sheldon H.S.) led the team with 7 kills and 15 digs along with Channel Coleman (Laguna H.S./ARC) whose hitting percentage was an impressive .357 on the night.  The team won the match with scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-18.  With this win the team improves to 2-8 in Conference and 8-13 overall.  The Hawks will be back in action this Friday when they go on the road to Diablo Valley College for a 6:30 PM start time.
