CRC's Global Studies Program is designed to provide entrance into an
intellectually stimulating field of study or an exciting global career.
Global Studies Programs study a specific region of the world by focusing
on its politics, history, geography, culture and language as it relates to
the rest of the world. Accordingly, the Program will incorporate courses
and faculty from social sciences, language arts and creative arts. The
courses offered as part of the Global Studies program meet CSU GE
requirements as well as IGETC requirements in "Political Science," and
CRC GE requirements in other "Social and Behavioral Sciences" and
"Arts and Humanities."
The increasing interaction of peoples, economies, cultures, markets and
public policies supports the need for a Global Studies Program.
Career opportunities may be found in Government (Departments
of State, Defense, Homeland Security, etc.); attorney (immigration,
international law, etc.); MNC's; NGO's (non-profits, environmental, etc.)
and academia (graduate work; teaching, etc.)
Certificates of Proficiency for the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and Southeast Asia will be introduced during the Fall 2010 semester.
