History gives an interesting perspective on life . . .and I have enjoyed living in some historic places, including Telluride, Colorado with the fabulous mountains and old historic buildings and mines, West Palm Beach, Florida (where retirees go to review their personal history), and Accra, Ghana where I married my husband and started a new chapter of my own history. One of my earlier careers was in an historic profession making stained glass windows, first for a studio in Florida, then a studio in Sacramento, and finally as a sole proprietor of my own shop. Besides making windows, I enjoyed teaching night classes in stained glass techniques. |

As Family life grew in importance with the arrival of kids (new history in the making!), I moved from stained glass, to working as the office manager and bookkeeper for my husband's construction company. This got me started on spreadsheets, word processing, and other office tasks with the computer. I started with a monochromatic monitor (orange letters on black!) a DOS operating system, Lotus123, and WordPerfect. I attended classes at Sacramento City College to learn more, and then returned for a master's degree at Sac State while teaching computer applications part time. Upon completion of my degree, I was delighted to join the faculty at Cosumnes River College full time. |

Besides teaching (which I love) and you students, my other major interests include boys (see my bunch!), participating in my church and neighborhood communities, step aerobics, hiking, mountain climbing, and backpacking, and all kinds of outdoor activities. I still haven't tried hang gliding, but it's on my list for some day... |
