Our mission as the Classified Senate is to foster a harmonious campus environment which includes, responds to, and recognizes the needs and achievements of all its members and to assist all members to develop and pursue professional growth, through the following goals and objectives:
- Develop a classified employee recognition program
- Collaborate with the management to improve and expand the classified mentor program
- Institute an annual classified retreat
- Establish a committee to plan and coordinate fund raising activities of the Classified Senate
- Develop a Classified Senate operating budget to justify an annual allocation of discretionary college funds
Purpose Statement:
The CRC Classified Senate sees its purpose as:
- To provide the classified staff with a formal, representative voice on any matter affecting the conduct and welfare of the college before all college committees, the Chancellor's Cabinet, the college, district board, and statewide classified organizations.
- To serve as a resource for the expression and/or resolution of the various needs, concerns and viewpoints of the classified staff not relating to collective bargaining matters.
- To provide activities and opportunities that develop and/or increase skills, productivity and professionalism of the classified staff.
- To recommend the appointment of classified representatives to committees requiring classified representation.
- To facilitate communication between the classified staff and the rest of the college and district.
- To convey the professionalism of the classified staff so that we are recognized and valued.
Membership
The Classified Senate shall be comprised of all non-management employees at Cosumnes River College who fill permanent blue collar, white collar, confidential and non-management supervisory classified positions.
