Welcome to the Assessment Center at Cosumnes River College
The Assessment Center provides a variety of testing services to help you in determining correct course selection. Academic placement assessments are scheduled regularly, and include English writing and reading, Mathematics, and English as a Second Language.
The Assessment Center also administers, by appointment only, a Math Graduation Competency exam and the Ability-to-Benefit test.
Initial (first) placement assessments, the Ability-to-Benefit test, and Graduation Competency exams are provided at no cost to students with a valid Cosumnes River College student ID number.
Counselors look at the whole picture when advising students in the selection of appropriate courses. Assessment may also consider your study skills, English language proficiency, motivational level, computational skills, goals, learning skills, career aspirations, prior academic performance, and need for specialized services.
