DSPS

Eligibility

The DSPS program provides support services, specialized instruction, and educational accommodations to students with disabilities so that they can participate as fully and benefit as equitably from the college experience as their non-disabled peers.

The eligibility process involves the following steps.

  1. Students must provide the DSPS program with verification of a disability.
  2. A DSPS faculty member will review the information with the student and approve those accommodations or services that are warranted due to the limitations caused by the student's disability.
  3. An Accommodations Form will be completed for each student listing the accommodations and/or services that are appropriate for that student.
  4. For those accommodations or services that will be provided for a specific course, an Accommodations Memo will be competed and taken by the student to the professor detailing the accommodation. Disability information is confidential and may not be shared with course professors unless written permission is given by the student.

For more information please contact the DSPS office at (916) 691-7275 or TDD (916) 691-7273.
