The Reading and Writing Center (RWC) provides help with reading and/or writing assignments for any class. English professors and instructional assistants staff the Center. Their focus is to help students develop and present ideas coherently in essays, not to provide quick grammatical fixes.
Who can use the RWC:
Students enrolled at CRC may register to use the RWC, whether or not they are taking an English class. However, enrollment in ENGLB 70 is required for students to use RWC services.
Attendance requirement: Because students receive college credit for their work in the RWC, they must complete 22.5 hours to earn .5 unit and 45 hours to earn 1 unit (non-transferable). The class is graded on a Credit/No Credit basis. No lectures or assignments are given; students bring in their own work.
Registration information:
Students can register for ENGLB 70 online, in the Admissions Office, or in the RWC itself. Because of the short summer term, students must register as soon as possible in order to complete their hours.
