Campus Sustainability

Campus Sustainability

Sustainability - "Meeting the needs of the present generation, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." United Nations Brundtland Report, 1987

The Campus Sustainability Committee works to promote sustainability at CRC, in accordance with the above definition. We strive to increase understanding of our ethical responsibility to future generations, to encourage respect for the environment and to assist the campus in its efforts to create an environmentally responsible academic setting.

We participate in the following activities:

  • Publish an online newsletter, The Green Scene
  • Invite students to take the Graduation Pledge of Social Responsibility and CRC employees to take the CRC Sustainability Pledge
  • Provide recycling education
  • Promote reduced paper, water, energy and resource use in general on campus
  • Promote sustainability in campus building design and operations
  • Promote and implement annual Earth Week activities
  • Encourage faculty to include the theme of sustainability in curriculum
  • Mentor students working on sustainability projects
