Updates Regarding Our Advanced Education Process

If you are an Advanced Education student who wants to take Fall classes, please visit our website view the Class Schedule. Registration dates for Advanced Education students start in mid May. Advanced Education students will need to register in person at the Admissions & Records office for approved classes. For forms and information about process, please go to our Advanced Education page.

First Time College Students

If you are a first time college student (never attended any other institution of higher education) please be sure to complete our "Steps to Success." Group Counseling Sessions are available by appointment to students that have completed Steps 1-3. Call the counseling department at (916) 691-7316 to schedule your session, space and availability may be limited.

Probation/Dismissal Students

Students on Dismissal will need to see a Counselor to complete a Readmission petition to clear dismissal hold. Your second semester where you are in dismissal standing, you will be required to sit out. If you have 2 or more you will be required to attend a Reinstatement Workshop to clear the Dismissal hold. Call the counseling department at (916) 691-7316 to determine which path you will need to take. Be sure to inform the Counseling Center front desk staff that you are on Dismissal. Please note that the counseling office does not process dismissals 10 business days before or after the start of a semester.

Reinstatement workshops are scheduled a month prior to registration and end a week before school starts (no exceptions). It is the students responsibility to always check their e-Services to be aware of any kind of hold. If you have been told that you will need to attend one of these workshops to complete your readmission process you can call the counseling office at (916) 691-7316 to reserve your spot. Workshop dates for Fall will be released in April and July; Spring dates will be available in November prior to registration.

Students who are on Probation are encouraged to see a counselor but MUST sign up for a SUCCESS workshop in order to remove hold. Please be sure to inform the Counseling Center front desk staff that you are on Probation when asking to schedule a workshop. 2nd probation status students must make an appointment with their SUCCESS coach they met with during their SUCCESS workshop. Please check our probation and dismissal link.
