Counselors are currently meeting with continuing, returning, new fully matriculated, and transfer students by appointment only. New incoming freshman students should review our New Student page for some helpful resources.
Counselors only see continuing, returning, new fully matriculated, & transfer students during our drop-in period. Drop-in times are available Mondays through Thursdays only from as early as 8:00 am and as late as 5:30 pm as counselors are available. Drop-in services are not available on Fridays. Please refer to the calendar on the Counseling Home Page to learn about eligible appointments on Fridays.
If you are an Advanced Education student who wants to take Fall classes, please visit our website view the Class Schedule. Registration dates for Advanced Education students start in mid May. Advanced Education students will need to register in person at the Admissions & Records office for approved classes. For forms and information about process, please go to our Advanced Education page.
If you are a first time college student (never attended any other institution of higher education) please be sure to complete our "Steps to Success." Group Counseling Sessions are available by appointment to students that have completed Steps 1-3. Call the counseling department at (916) 691-7316 to schedule your session, space and availability may be limited.
Students on Dismissal will need to see a Counselor or attend a PASS workshop to clear the Dismissal hold. Call the counseling department at (916) 691-7316 to determine which path you will need to take. Be sure to inform the Counseling Center front desk staff that you are on Dismissal. Please note that the counseling office does not process dismissals 10 business days before or after the start of a semester.
Pathways to Achieving Student Success (PASS) workshops are scheduled throughout the semester monthly. If you have been told that you will need to attend one of these workshops to complete your readmission process you can call the counseling office at (916) 691-7316 to reserve your spot. Workshop dates for Fall will be released in August.
Students who are on Probation are encouraged to see a counselor in order to help you avoid Dismissal. Please be sure to inform the Counseling Center front desk staff that you are on Probation when asking to speak with a Counselor.
