Federal Work Study (FWS) is a federal student aid program that provides part-time employment while you are enrolled in school to help pay your education expenses. Please read the FWS Student Handbook 17-18 for more detailed information.
In order to apply for a Federal Work-Study position, you must:
Applicants who are eligible for Federal Work Study will have their application packet forwarded to the department for which they are applying. If it is determined that you are eligible for the position, you will be contacted by that department for an interview. If you are hired, your name will be forwarded to the Financial Aid Office and a FWS award will be added to your awards.
If you are applying for more than one position, please provide a separate FWS application packet for each position. While you may apply for more than one FWS position, you can only receive one FWS award. If you are hired for a position, please inform any other perspective FWS employers before accepting another interview. Due to the limitation in the number of hours a student is eligible to work, most employers cannot accommodate students who are working as a FWS student in another department.
