Steps for Rex & Margaret Fortune Early College High School Scholars to Enter Cohort

Cosumnes River College warmly welcomes students into the Rex & Margaret Early College High School (RMF ECHS) cohort to participate in the Early College High School program. By following the steps below, you will be guided through the process to register for approved CRC courses in this cohort. Our goal is to make your registration experience as smooth as possible, so please carefully read all of the information in each step below. If you have any questions along the way, contact information has been provided at each step so you can receive any help that you may need.

First-time ECHS Students (already approved by the RMF ECHS)

Step 1

Attend the CRC Rex & Margaret Fortune ECHS Cohort Orientation & Application Workshop

CRC Rex & Margaret Fortune ECHS (RMF ECHS) Cohort Orientation Dates:

Date:           Friday, May 25th, 2018

Time:          4:30PM - 6:30PM

Location:   Ephraim Williams College Prep Academy
                    4545 9th Ave, Sacramento, Ca 95820

 
Please note: A Parent or legal guardian should be present during the Orientation in order for the student to fully complete the Advanced Education packet.

 

During the Orientation & Application Workshop all students will complete the following:

  • Online application to CRC
  • ECHS Advanced Education Application packet
  • Typed statements for Advanced Education Application and Petition
  • Retrieve Los Rios College Student ID Number

Before attending the Orientation you will need to know the following information:

  • Legal name
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Email Address
  • Mailing Address

Step 2

Set-Up Your Unified Student Account Password

After you complete the CRC RMF ECHS Orientation you will need to set-up your unified student account password. Students will use this password to access the following:

  • eServices: Student account for students to view class schedules, grades, and more.
  • Canvas: An online learning platform where Professors can post assignments, or send messages to students in a class.
  • Los Rios Gmail: A free student email account where College Departments will email important reminders and deadlines. Additionally, Professors can also communicate important messages to students to this email.

To set-up your unified password:

  1. Go to the eServices Log-In page.
  2. Select the "New User/Create your Password" option underneath the Password box.
  3. Fill in your Los Rios Student ID Number ( W+ 7-Digit ID Number)
  4. Answer your security questions. (If you have forgotten your security question answers, you will have to come in to the Admission & Records Office located at the Elk Grove Center Office with photo ID to access the security question answers.
  5. Create your password and submit. Please allow 15 minutes before logging in to any account.

Continuing ECHS Students

Step 1

Complete the Supplemental Form Online

You must complete the Supplemental Form to CRC to continue to the next semester. The Supplemental form is accessible in your eServices account. You must complete this before submitting your Advanced Education application to the ECHS staff.

  • Please log-in to your eServices student account.
  • If you have forgotten your password, please follow the "Forgot your password?" option located below the password box.
  • If you have forgotten your security question answers, you will have to come in to the Admission & Records Office located at the Elk Grove Center Office with photo ID to access the security question answers.

Step 2

Complete the Advanced Education Application Packet

After you completing the Supplemental Form online, you will need to complete an ECHS Advanced Education packet available at your ECHS Front Office. 

Important Reminders:

  • Make sure you complete all forms in blue or black ink only.
  • Fill in your Los Rios College ID Number for all areas requesting "Student ID Number"
  • Be sure to complete signatures on both the front and back of your application.
  • Attach all required documents and typed statements before submission
  • Submit your completed application packet to the ECHS Front Office.

Entering Freshman (not yet approved by RMF ECHS)

If you are currently a middle school student, or legal guardian of a middle school student, who has not yet applied to the Rex & Margaret Fortune ECHS, please contact the staff below for application instructions.

Current Junior or Senior High School Students (Non- Fortune ECHS Students)

If you are currently a high school student, but not attending the RMF ECHS, please know that courses are primarily intended for students in the Rex & Margaret Fortune Early College High School (RMFECHS) cohort. Courses are open to all CRC students based on the registration dates set by the Los Rios Community College District. Please see the CRC Class Schedule for course dates and times.

ASTR 300          Introduction to Astronomy

If you are still interested in applying into the courses primarily intended for the RMFECHS cohort, you will need to complete the Advanced Education application.

Current CRC College students

Courses are primarily intended for students in the Rex & Margaret Fortune Early College High School (RMFECHS) cohort but are open to all CRC students based on the registration dates set by the Los Rios Community College District. Please see the CRC Class Schedule for course dates and times.
