Letter from CRC’s President
Every day I witness the personal and professional growth of our students through support they receive from our faculty, staff and this Foundation. I see the great work our Foundation Board has done over the years and continue to see how this organization directly affects our students. And I see how important it is for members of this Board to be dedicated to serving our students and programs we offer.
Established in 1970, the college has provided quality educational programs and services to a diverse community in south Sacramento and Elk Grove communities. The college has a complete lower-division university transfer program and a variety of professional and technical programs for students seeking career-related opportunities. In all, students are afforded an opportunity to study in more than 70 academic areas. Today, nearly 15,000 students call CRC home.
I hope that after you visit our pages, you will consider an investment in our college and in the future of our students and our community. Through the creation of a supportive learning environment, our goal is to advance our students’ dreams, and in turn, advance the economic, social, and civic goals of our community.
California community colleges lag far behind K-12, the California State University, and the University of California systems in per-student funding. Through the CRC Foundation, the college seeks to attract additional financial support and this is where we need your help. Your philanthropic support provides the margin of excellence between an adequate educational experience and an exceptional one. I hope you’ll consider either joining our Foundation or finding other ways to support our students.
As CRC begins its 45th year of service to the community, we invite you to be a part of our next era of development, teaching excellence, and student success. Please join us!
Edward Bush, Ph.D.
