How to Get an Internship

Checklist

Getting an internship is a process. Your first step is to stop by the Co-op Office located in the Business and Social Science Building room 106.  We welcome you to drop by the office anytime Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Please note that the office is closed everyday from 12 - 1 p.m.  You may also schedule an appointment by contacting us at (916) 691-7372.

Preparation

You do not need to bring anything with for your first meeting with a Co-op staff member.  We will go over all of the eligibility requirements with you and determine how to best meet your career goals.  You will be provided with information on how to search for an internship, how to develop a competitive cover letter and resume and any additional information to help you be successful in getting an internship.

To get started

  1. Stop by the Co-op office  BS 106
  2. Create an account on our job/internship website LINCS
  3. Review the internships on the site and make copies of the positions that are of interest to you
  4. Obtain unofficial copies of your transcripts
  5. We will assist you with the Development of a file icon.Cover Letter and file icon.Resume
