The CRC Jazz Band Program has something for every person’s musical ability and for every musical taste.  The Music Ensembles at CRC offer more than an opportunity for musical excellence - they also provide an instant feeling of belonging, a chance to participate in some of the college's most popular classes and the opportunity to form life-long friendships. The Jazz Band performs a variety of styles including blues, swing, jazz, funk, latin, and many more.  We rehearse 6:30-9:20 PM on Tuesdays.

The typical jazz band instrumentation includes trumpets, saxophones, trombones, and a rhythm section. The rhythm section consists of a drum set, guitar, piano, and bass (depending on the piece the bass player may be playing electric bass or upright bass). From time to time, we will also feature a jazz singer. Currently, there is no limit to how many students we will take in the jazz band.

Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester in August and January. Auditions consist of a jazz excerpt, B-flat & F blues scale, and sightreading.
