The Academic Senate is the voice for the faculty in the shared governance process. The Senate makes recommendations to the administration related to the following areas of professional and academic responsibility:
In addition, the Academic Senate is responsible for making recommendations regarding other academic and professional matters as mutually agreed upon with the governing board. We call this the "10 + 1".
The most important tools in Academic Senate work are the senators. Senate goals are met through their commitment to the best interests of higher education and diligence in carrying out the work of committees and task groups.
Meetings are open to anyone and happen on the 2nd and 4th Fridays* from 12:00-2:00pm in Music 306 (M306)
*Occaisionally meetings are on other Fridays because of holidays and ASCCC meeting schedules.
