Do Peer Mentors get paid?

- Yes, the current pay rate is $11.00/hr

 

What is the age requirement to become a mentor?

- There is no minimum or maximum age requirement to be a peer mentor. Any part-time (minimum 6 units) or full time Cosumnes River College student can apply to become a mentor.

 

What are the criteria for becoming a peer mentor?

- Mentors are required to have a cumulative minimum grade point average of at least a 2.5 and have completed at least 12 units or more with at least one semester completed at Cosumnes River College. Peer mentors are also required to be in and remain in good academic standing during the entire duration of the project.

 

How often do peer mentors meet with their mentees?

- Peer mentors are required to have a face-to-face contact once a month for at least 30min and at least one weekly contact that may consist of a phone call, text or email.
