Research Appointment

The reference librarians at CRC Library provide research help to distance learning and online students working on research papers or other assignments. Questions submitted during the weekday, Monday through Friday, will usually be answered within 1 to 2 days. Questions submitted during weekends and holidays might take longer.

If you require immediate assistance with a research question, you can call the library directly at (916) 691-7266 during the open hours of 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Outside of the open hours, you can use the Ask a Librarian chat.

Schedule an Appointment

A research appointment is a 40 minute, customized, one-on-one research session with a reference librarian. You will have the opportunity to discuss your topic in-depth with the librarian, who will offer advice as to what resources will aid you in your research. We cannot actually do the research for you, but can advise you on choosing appropriate research resources, picking search terms and developing a search strategy. You will receive an email or phone call within 48 hours from a librarian to confirm the appointment after you fill out the appointment form. This service is open to all students, staff and faculty of CRC.

Special note for instructors: Due to time and staffing constraints, we cannot accommodate entire classes signing up for research appointments. If your class needs assistance, please arrange for group library instruction by contacting Rochelle Perez  at perezr@crc.losrios.edu or (916) 691-7629.

If you have a quick question, try our 24/7 chat service available on the Library's contact page.
