We are pausing the admission to the Cosumnes River College Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. We have not yet determined the new admission date for the next cohort.

Please check back for any new information. If you have any questions, please contact Dean Kris Hubbard at hubbark@crc.losrios.edu.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program includes didactic, laboratory, and practicum components that are structured to facilitate the achievement of educational and career goals. According to the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), sonographers are "highly-skilled professionals who use specialized equipment to create images of structures inside the human body that are used by physicians to make medical diagnoses."

Organizations such as the ARDMS certify the competency of sonographers through registration.

As a notification requirement of accreditation status, the Cosumnes River College Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). The program has been placed on Probationary Accreditation as of January 18, 2024.

We will update you in the future as to any changes that are made to our probationary status.
