About Emely Salgado:

I moved to the United States from El Salvador at the age of seventeen. Graduated from high school in El Salvador and when I moved, I started my educational journey by taking English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. I'm a proud CRC alumna who graduated with an Associate Degree in Child Development; later I transferred to Sacramento State to pursue my bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a minor in Counseling. I am currently exploring master's programs to find the one that best suits my goals and aspirations. As someone who was once an ESL student, I understand the experiences of many others, and I am committed to supporting them in thriving and succeeding on their educational path. I am the example of si se puede!

About Ana Karen Tamayo:

Originally from Woodland CA, with roots in Michoacán Mexico, my passion for helping others began at a young age as I naturally took the role of advocating for my parents and family. I earned a bachelor's degree at Sacramento State in Criminal Justice. As a Spanish speaker and someone familiar with public services, I had the opportunity to offer bilingual support to underserved families in Sacramento as a parent educator. Currently pursuing a rehabilitation counseling degree at Sacramento State, I aim to offer services in multiple languages to make counseling more accessible. My goal is to leverage my education, knowledge, and lived experience to continue to support and empower individuals in their academic pursuits.
